In late 2016 I visited Antarctica on Antarctica New Zealand's Community Engagement Programme. My interest is in the relationship between people and place, and in particular how the places and spaces of our lives (in which we live, work and play) impact and influence us? Staff and scientists working at Scott Base were asked to consider this through writing a postcard to Antarctica. They were asked to explore this through the question "If you had something to say to Antarctica, what would that be". Presented as a series of postcards, photographs and videos exploring the human spaces of the Scott Base and its immediate environs, the exhibition Postcards to Antarctica was on display at Canterbury Museum from August-November 2017.
