Antarctica

In late 2016 I visited Antarctica on Antarctica New Zealand's Community Engagement Programme. My research interests explore the relationship between people and place, and in particular question how the places and spaces of our lives (in which we live, work and play) impact and influence us. Staff and scientists working at Scott Base were asked to consider this through writing a postcard to Antarctica responding to the following question: "If you had something to say to Antarctica, what would that be".  Presented as a series of postcards, photographs and videos exploring the human spaces of the Scott Base and its immediate environs, the exhibition Postcards to Antarctica was displayed at Canterbury Museum for three months in the spring of the following year.
